Holmfirth artist, Helena, is inspired by landscapes and their inhabitants, especially hares. She creates simple striking images with ink, watercolour, and gouache, often adding phrases to create resonance. Helena’s art collection at the gallery includes framed and unframed prints in a variety of sizes.
Huddersfield artist David, produces unique, surreal and quirky paintings using acrylic paint. If you would like an animal commission, maybe of your pet, please ask a member of the gallery team. David can make a bespoke piece just for you.
Beth is a Slaithwaite based artist who creates works using paint on canvas. She loves to paint in an intuitive way to create imagined landscapes. Her paintings are inspired by colours, light, skies and the local landscape that she experiences whilst out walking. She loves the way that art can transport you to a beautiful place.
Christian is an aerial and abstract photographer with a passion for capturing the unseen. Born on one side of the Pennines and now living and working on the other, he loves using drones to explore and reveal new perspectives.
Through his work, Christian aims to transform familiar landscapes into stunning, unexpected visuals, offering a fresh look at the world from angles we often overlook. His art merges the natural and the abstract, sparking curiosity and a sense of wonder.
Helen is a self-taught artist based in Holmfirth, Helen’s watercolour paintings are inspired by her doorstep views as she wanders and wonders at rolling hills, drystone walls and patchwork fields; taking photographs of things that catch her eye.
Christine is a Meltham based artist. She began her creative journey as an illustrator and drawing is central to her work. She has always loved printmaking and works with lino cut and drypoint etching. Much of her inspiration comes from nature and the human experience, imagination, and the interplay between the inner and outer worlds.
Mervyn is a Yorkshire based artist who uses his canvas to share the free-spirited, joyful side of life. His whimsical and quirky paintings of sheep each tell a stand-alone story inspired by clever wordplay. Mervyn’s ideas are mostly influenced through pop culture with echoes of his cheeky persona. Rather than taking a serious approach to art, Mervyn prefers to make humour the focus and delivers that through comical interpretations of sheep in the funniest of situations.
Janet is inspired by Yorkshire’s seaside towns, quaint villages and the rugged terrain of the moors with their purple heathers. At first glance you may think her artworks are paintings, look closer and you will find that her work is made entirely from recycled paper which she tears and blends to create beautiful, textured works.
Louise is a Yorkshire born and bred artist based in Huddersfield. She is 'no frills' creating her original artworks in acrylic paint when driven by emotions and experiences of her chosen subjects. Louise works from reference images and personal photographs, adding and adapting them to create a more pleasing finished piece.
Glen is a figurative painter, working in acrylic, pastels, and charcoal. He likes to experiment, painting on all sorts of textures, from canvas and cardboard to slate and steel. Growing up in South Yorkshire, most of his family were miners and steelworkers. His work reflects his memories of that working class background.
Joshua has degrees in Ceramics and Fine Art for Design. He creates work in his studio in Shelf, Halifax. Joshua lives with uncontrolled, unpredictable epilepsy. His work is influenced by an attempt to gain control of the uncontrolled alongside the individualised nature of his condition and the way this manifests itself in very different ways.

Matt is a landscape painter, working in acrylic, oil, watercolour and ink. His work is a celebration of the natural environment and its visual beauty. Living in Meltham on the edge of the Peak District, Matt regularly walks, runs and commutes through the most inspiring landscape. He takes photographs everywhere he goes, documenting when the light is just right or the weather conditions are unusual.
Dan is a landscape photographer based in Huddersfield. He is passionate about the great outdoors and loves to photograph the local landscapes of Huddersfield and its surrounding areas. Dan’s collection includes framed and unframed photography in two sizes, 20x16 inches and 14x11 inches.
Maria is a Marsden based artist who uses copper as a canvas. She paints the copper with chemicals and applies heat treatments, altering the coppers texture and colour to create images inspired by nature. Each piece is unique.
Carol is a Huddersfield artist who loves her hometown. She is inspired by its diverse and interesting vistas. Carol works with pen and watercolour and the scenes she paints are from photos she has taken. Her favourite views are looking up from a valley to the houses, higgledy piggledy into the hillside.
Carol’s beautiful views of Slaithwaite, Marsden, Golcar, Holmfirth, Honley and Castle Hill are available at the gallery. The collection includes framed artworks and cards.
Matthew is an artist based in Brighouse. He constantly finds inspiration in buildings and landscapes that are rich in colour, light and texture. Mathew works with a variety of media, including acrylic and oils. He likes to work in different scales.
Steven’s creations are all lovingly handmade in his little workshop that he built at the bottom of his garden in Brighouse. He sculpts with scrap metal and reclaimed timber. Most of his work is influenced by nature and natural organic forms of growth and corrosion. Sharing his work with others brings him joy and happiness, knowing people see the beauty in what would never have been.
Su is a Chinese ink painting artist whose work reflects a profound connection to nature and the timeless principles of Zen culture. Born in Aksu, Xinjiang in 1992, Su grew up with a passion for ancient Chinese culture. Since relocating to West Yorkshire in 2023, Su has continued to explore and share the beauty of Chinese traditional ink painting and calligraphy. Her artwork draws from ancient Chinese aesthetics, emphasizing balance and the beauty of impermanence to provide a meditative and tranquil experience.
